An amazing and wide-ranging collaborative art show called NAVIGATE comes to Boise Guest House from Bricolage in September. To navigate is to find one’s way—to choose a direction—to follow a path. Each artist was given an 11×14 wood panel and a metal school compass, then asked to interpret this theme in his or her own way using any medium and incorporating both props. From encaustic to pen and ink, from plastic flowers to bulky hardware, this collection of fine artwork deeply explores the idea of navigation, produced by a fantastic cross-section of Boise-based (or Boise-bred) style and artistic talent.
NAVIGATE stars April Vandegrift, Becca Fuhrman, Ben Wilson, Bingo Barnes, Brienne Oliver, Byron Folwell, Conrad Garner + Cale Cathey (aka Meatbag), Elijah Jensen, Erin Cunningham, Grant Olsen, Heather Bauer, Jeremy Oliver, Jon Sadler, Julia Green, Karen Lilly, Kirsten Furlong, Kyler Martz, Laurie Blakeslee, Jennie Jorgensen, Noble Hardesty, Sarah Masterson, Toby Robin, Travis Campion, Willow Socia, and more!
See NAVIGATE all month in the Travel Suite, with an open house launch celebration held on Friday, September 7 from 5 to 9 pm featuring musician Dan Costello. Learn more about the project in this Boise Weekly article.
